first day of school
first day at a new school is always hard, especially when all the signs and instructions are in a language that you do not understand! even the emails that they send to our HEC mail is in French. What good does that do, i really don’t know.
it took me many many rounds around the school to find the library, because it was on the 2nd floor and for some reason their lift buttons AND stairs access are only for level 1,3,4,5 etc. Notice that level 2 is missing and that’s where the library is. After i finally found the library at one end of the school accessible by this isolated stairs (i’m not even sure whether there’re other ways up because it was so confusing), i had to ask the librarian how to print smth from the sch printer. Even the school computer was in French! i had to guess which was the ‘log off’ option.
But it was not the end. The photocopier card i had no money in it and the machine to top it up was down. like how suay can i get. Long story short, asked ard and finally borrowed a card from the nice librarian who probably took pity on me cause it took me so long to print the paper. -.-
Morning lesson of American polities was quite interesting. which is ironic because i dropped social science just so i didn’t have to take pol sci and sociology. but then again, this is a pass/fail mod here. so big diff. haha.
International trade was really boring. i don’t know if it’s cuz it’s the first lesson or maybe cuz i’m tired, but i nearly fell aslp.
We signed up for a HEC welcome package for exchange students which cost us 215CAD but they had a dinner tonight arranged for us. So we went for the dinner at St-Hubert where the food was okay i guess. maybe cuz there were so many of us because Lynn mentioned that their food is nice. but we had soggy fries. =( which is no good. Afterwhich we headed to Maisonnee which is a bar for a ‘karoke’ session. it is NOTHING like kbox in singapore. Their idea of karoke involves people going up to this platform to sing. much like the the cafes where people perform. i suppose if it’s one person it’ll be rather embarrassing. but we did it in groups which made it fun.
came back early cuz we were so shagged out from school.
alright. gtg slp. =)
gd afternoon singapore!
